The United Story

It's another week where nothing has happened. We haven't sold or signed any players. It's July 17th, and we have only signed one player and sold a youth player. That's the sum of our transfer window so far, just pure facts. Manchester United is supposed to be efficient and competent in getting deals done quickly, but we haven't seen any evidence of that. Nothing will change until we change our owners. Speaking of the sale, it has gone completely silent for the last six weeks. There has been no communication or updates on the sale process. It's an absolute disgrace. The Glazers are taking advantage and wasting Qatar's time. They will surely get tired of waiting and move on to buy a different Premier League club.
It has been a week since the reported deal with Onana was close, and he had agreed to personal terms with Manchester United after a new proposal bid was submitted to Inter Milan worth £50 million, including add-ons. However, Inter turned down the offer as they wanted £60 million. That was a week ago, and the deal still hasn't been completed. United continues to be slow in getting transfers done. The only thing left is to agree on payment terms to reach Inter Milan's asking fee. United is wasting time and arguing over a few million pounds. It's more important to sign players as quickly as possible, have them on the pre-season tour, and allow them to settle into the club. It will also give the United defense time to adjust to the new goalkeeper, as Onana is a sweeper keeper with excellent passing ability, allowing the team to progress quickly up the pitch . David de Gea is not a modern sweeper keeper unlike Onana so United will need time to adjust and implement a new style of play that they are not use to. Its vital to get a few pre season games with Onana in goal for Man United.
While United remains stagnant in the transfer window, our rivals are getting deals done. Arsenal, who finished ahead of us in the league, has signed Declan Rice, Havertz, and Timber. How can Manchester United expect to compete if we are not signing better players than our rivals? Our priority should have been to sign a striker, as we currently have none. Martial is too injury-prone to rely on, and we have not replaced Cavani or Ronaldo. Playing Rashford as our striker is not ideal; he plays better off the left as a winger. United's transfer window so far has been disappointing, with the only signing being Mason Mount, an upgrade on Erikson but still unacceptable.
Manchester United is not willing to overpay for the eye-watering price tag of £85 million for Rasmus Hojlund. The club is desperate to sign a striker this summer after the prospect of signing Kane proved impossible. Thus, United turned their attention to 20-year-old Atalanta forward Hojlund, but he is valued way above his worth, having only scored 10 goals in 34 appearances last season. He is a promising young player, but not the answer for Manchester United. Negotiations should be done to reach a more reasonable price for both parties. While he would be a good signing, he is not the finished article and would take a few years to develop into a clinical number 9. The idea of a young striker is exciting, but an experienced forward should also be brought in to lead the line and score over 20 goals a season.
